Adriana Picker’s third solo show and first at Chippendale’s Goodspace, 'Is it the sea you hear in me?', will be an illustrative exploration of aquatic creatures. The subject matter of the show is largely influenced by a typical Australian childhood of summers beachcombing, swimming well past dusk, carrying around pet hermit crabs and peering into rock pools in search of the most unusual creatures.

Adriana’s food illustrations have also helped to develop a fascination with the creatures that lurk below the surface.

Like most of Adriana’s work the subject matter stems from a childlike wonderment at the beauty of the natural world. Driven by an intricate and detailed illustrative style the work will focus on the texture of the crustaceans, shells and fish drawn.
